Algebra and Applications
The Algebra and Applications Research Unit is a multidisciplinary group formed by mathematicians and engineers. Currently, its research lines focus on developing theoretical methods for extracting information from data coming from different sources. The techniques and algorithms that are developed are applied in fields such as biomedical data classification, medical decision-making.
Research lines:
• Development of machine learning methods for multimodal information extraction.
• Multimodal analysis of human movement. Applications for improving functional capacity and rehabilitation outcomes.
• Optimization techniques for extracting information from biological signals obtained with non-invasive techniques.
• Aggregation and implication functions: Applications in data classification problems and decision making under uncertainty
