Our dynamic world is constantly faced with challenges, such as changes in consumer trends and behaviour, with remarkable investments being made in research and innovation to meet these needs. A recent development in our interconnected world is cross-field inventions, which combine technologies from several different technological fields. This provides new challenges in finding the best way to protect such inventions with regard to several aspects in the patent-granting process. This lecture series is aimed at patent professionals seeking to gain deeper insight into the new challenges faced when patenting cross-field inventions. Selected technological fields are chosen to illustrate this new evolution. New technologies such as AI have increased the rate of innovation in medical technology by making the analysis of data possible. At the EPO, the integration of AI and other related technologies into medical technology has created a new area that we call "healthcare informatics". During this lecture we will discover the challenges faced by both examiners and patent attorneys when dealing with patent applications in this new area and the key elements to consider when protecting them. Find out more by joining EPO and IP experts in novel cross-field technologies in the medical technology field. Registration here. Online https://www.epo.org/ https://www.epo.org/ Europe/Madrid public
