Enhancing Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) and/or Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) national infrastructures and capacities to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic in Spain

The European Union is working tirelessly to ensure that all Europeans have access to COVID-19 vaccines as soon as possible. The licensed vaccines are effective against the current virus. At the same time, we must prepare for new variants of the virus by rapidly developing and producing vaccines effective against these variants on a large scale. This is why the European Commission has launched the HERA incubator. The aim is to bring together science, industry and public authorities, harnessing all available resources to enable Europe to respond to this threat.
